Niagara FallsOur trip to the falls

We decided to take a trip to Niagara Falls and even though it was kind of cold and dreary trip, it was a lot of fun. Drive up We left kind of early so as we would have the whole day to spend up there. The drive up wasn't as long as I thought it would be, it only took us about 2 hrs including a stop for food up in Erie.

UnpackingOnce we got up there, we looked for our hotel so we could get checked in, unpacked and then it was off to the Falls.

Casey jumping on the bed.Once we made it to our room Casey did what Casey does best, jumping on the bed. Then it was off to the Falls, we walked there for a number of reasons, the exercise, because we didn't want to take the car and look for a place to park and we could shop the stores without having to back track to get the car. We weren't that far from the Fall.

Hitching a ride. Now Casey was not into walking all that distance to the Fall, so of course I became the taxi, to and from along with whenever her little legs got tired. Along the way we came across a Haunted House and along the side of it was a mock grave yard, Casey was scared, so I walked into the grave yard with her on my shoulders to show her that it wasn't real. She was still scared and wasn't buying what I was telling Haunted House Grave Yard.her, so it was off to the Falls.

Heading to the rapids. These photos were of us walking down to see the rapids above the falls, the second photo is Casey leaning a little to the left. The third photo we're almost there, just up a little farther and the rapids will be in plain sight.

Still heading to the rapids. Finally at the rapids.

Walk way to the fallsHere's a shot looking down to the stairway that leads up to the falls to get a closer look of all the water spilling over the falls. Then there's the Maid of the Mist on the Canadian side picking up passengers to get a closer look of the falls. The Last shot is Casey, Nancy and myself posing for a shot as the water spills over the falls.

Snack area. This is a little area where you can grab something to eat or have a snack. The trolley bus in the background would take you to different spots inside the park above the falls.

RapidsThe rapids above the falls are pretty impressive. Awesome amount of power there, with all that water running over the falls.

White catapillerYour probably wondering what this is, this is a caterpillar we happen to have seen that was all white. Sharon took a picture of it for keepsake, none of us has ever seen a white caterpillar.

Looking out and watching the water fall into the basin below, Casey and I check out the scenery from the american side of the falls.
Casey posing for a picture in front of the elevator tower that takes you down to the base of the falls. Casey and mom playing with the helicopters that fell from the trees. On the way back we decided to take the trolley bus because we we're all tired of walking. The tour guide on the bus would ask for volunteers to come up and answer some question about the falls. Sharon talked Kristen into going up as you see here. The next shot is of Casey and me posing on the street corner with a shot of the Casino in the background. The last photo is a shot of Casey and me on the trolley bus heading back.
