Maui
Bird of Paradise, Hana Hwy. Maui

I'd like to share some of our photos taken recently in Maui. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with Maui mostly because it seems like everyone loves Maui. Charles Lindberg loved it so much he was buried there. All the big celebs have homes there--Tiger Woods, George Harrison, Wayne Dyer, and now, Oprah. What's not to love? Even the postcard sunsets don't exaggerate this place. I'd like to think my gushing is original in some way, that I found some detail of Maui somewhat undiscvered. In one word:

I love Maui for its colors.

I'm not sure I've ever witnessed certain hues that grace the Hawaiin Islands in shocking abundance. The orange/red of the Bird of Paradise is richer, more vivid than its Floridian cousin, and the turqoise waters are absolutely decadent--like melted Glaciers in blues, greens, whites, and this sparkling, irredescent turqoise that is beyond the tongue to describe. There are many. many exquisite places in this world filled with unriveled beauty, and Maui is surely at the top of the list. I hope our our photos unveil the majesty, power and dazzling pallette of this sumptous place. Enjoy. lea
