History

Ceol Mor  (pronounced "Kay-ol More") means "Big Music" in Gaelic - a name well suited for a band which features the Great Highland Bagpipe. The Ceol Mor Pipe Band made its debut in the 1998 Wilkes-Barre St. Patrick's Day Parade. Since then, Ceol Mor has performed in a variety of parades, university events, weddings, funerals and special affairs.

Originally, the band wore Jacobite period attire which featured each member's tartan of choice and represented a "Meeting of the Clans" as was the tradition in days of old.

In the Fall of 2006, the band adopted the Irish National tartan for their kilts to present a more united and streamlined appearance.  This kilt is worn with white uniform shirts in warmer weather, and with black commando-style sweaters and ties in the cooler weather.

Any event becomes a grand event when accompanied by the pipes. Whether the stirring sound of a lone piper is desired or the majestic sound of a full contingency, Ceol Mor members will work with you to assure a successful and memorable occasion.
