Bald is Fun!

April 2, 2006

So the hair on my head has nearly all fallen out and I LOVE it! I have gained nearly 20 minutes of sleep every day since I don't have to wash my hair, dry it, style it, etc. There's nothing like getting out of bed, taking a shower, drying off (and being dry), putting on a wig or hat and being ready to go! What fun!

Today, I washed one of my wigs. It's kind of like hand-washing a sweater – just swish it around in water with shampoo in it, rinse it, shake it out and let it dry on a wig stand. It dried in the same style that it started in; I don't have to do anything with it but wear it tomorrow. Cool beans.

I'm halfway through my chemo treatments. The first two treatments left me feeling kind of lousy for about a week after each. But, since I've had chemo on Fridays, I have been able to go back to work on Monday. I just haven't been able to work my typical long days for that week. After that, I feel pretty normal. So, it's not been a bad experience overall. Two more to go: the next one is at the end of next week and the last one will be the last week in April.

Onward and upward!
