Polson wins BYBM Season Opener !
Backyard Bassmasters opened their season at Sullivan April 5th. After a week delay due to rain and high water that we have experienced here in central Indiana.
But Bill Polson managed to extend his consistant streak into into the 2008 season by winning the first tournament of the year. Bill is the current BYBM Angler of the year. He brought two bass to the scales that weighed in at 10.39 He also had big bass for the day with 5.40 lb bass. In second place Jeff morton weighed on bass totaling 4.08 lbs. And third went to Marvin Nail. Marvin had one bass that went 3.50 lbs.The next tournament is scheduled for Geist April 19th. at the Olio rd ramp.
Geist, No matter what kind of conditions you may have at a particular lake someone always figures out a pattern to catch them. This months tournament was no different. The seventeen anglers were greeted with cold front conditions followed by a brief downpour, then sporadic sunshine and more clouds.
Damon Tingle managed to catch three nice bass at Geist to win BYBM's second event of 2008. Damon's three weighed in at 12.14 lbs anchored by a 5.26 pound largemouth which took big bass honors as well. second place belongs to Ed Rounsaville who weighed in two bass for a total of 5.82lbs. And in third place, Scott Sims brought in two to the scales for a total of 4.90lbs. Of the seventeen anglers ten weighed in fifteen bass for a total of 42.62 pounds The next BYBM club tournament is scheduled for Monroe May 31st.
Tingle wins at Rocky Point !
Dan Yeager claimed the victory at flooded Raccoon Lake June 21st. Dan weighed three bass for a total of 7.74 pounds. Tom Bunton was second with 6.09 pounds and Dale Rhoades was third 4.82 pounds
Damon Tingle was the lucky winner at Rocky Point July 12th. Damon weighed in a five fish limit totaling 8.69 lbs. The current BYBM points leader Jeff Morton continued with his consistant season by bringing in a five fish limit also to earn second place. Jeff's bass weighed 6.28 lbs. And in third was Ben Collins (Guest) Ben weighed 2 bass for a total of 5.71 lbs which included the Big Bass weighing 3.76 lbs. No pictures were available for this event.
Ray Hensley gets first Win at Patoka
Patoka, Nothing can boost your confidence more than getting your first win. Whether its at the pro level or club level. This happened to third year member Ray Hensley at Patoka. Ray did this by out weighing fourteen other club members to claim his first win with two bass totaling 5.72 pounds. Bill Polson was second with one weighing 4.53 pounds followed by Don Haggenjos who brought in two bass weighing 3.53 pounds. Jeff Morton continued his dominance of the points chase by increasing his lead and weighing two bass for 3.30lbs. and finished in fourth . The next ByBm event is scheduled for West Boggs.Sept. 6th.
