No pix of clarinets or saxophones. That's all in my sordid past. (Or in my brother's present, but he can go build his own pages.)
March 2003: I finally got a cello of my very own! Here it is:
Here's one I didn't get :-)
That's actually a carbon fiber cello by Quintus. Looks real, eh?
And here's a neat toy:
This one is by Yamaha, but there are several other good manufacturers of electronic celli. Great when you want to play silently (through headphones) or when you want to take a practice axe along on vacation and don't have much luggage space.
My new "favorite" electric cello, based entirely on looks, is Ned Steinberger.
Meanwhile, I went and bought the very cute Prakticello. The pics are copied from Ernst Nussbaum's Violin, viola, and cello web page. This instrument is nice and quiet but does have a little resonance; you can add a pickup easily enough.
The cello:
Here it is in its case:
And here I am allegedly playing the thing :-)

A good list of electronic string makers is here: lightbubble.com

The following stores have a very good inventory of sheet music, accessories, and instruments. Johnson in particular has medium-range as well as student instruments (if you count violins from $5,000 to $20,000 as mid-range. Compared to $100k, I sure do :-) ).

Please feel free to send me your favorites; I expect this music links area to grow with time.
BTW, there are literally hundreds of sites which offer downloadable sheet music, some for free and many for suscription rates far below the cost of printed music. Go browse; be patient :-) .
