Due to the extremely high volume of calls we receive, we can only
field calls from legislators or media representatives (in an effort to help
educate the public about the breed). The Chako Rescue Association is currently
operated by Dawn Capp, an attorney, published author, and APBT-owner.
If you're a representative of the media or a legislator, you may call
916-320-1824.
All other persons should contact Dawn Capp via email at dawnc@newsguy.com
(emails are generally answered very quickly, but you will have to respond to an
anti-spam verification). Please, if you seek rescue
advice, need to place a dog, want a dog, or have a dog scheduled for euthanization
that you're trying to save, please do not call. We are not a general rescue.
Any issues you may have, if at all possible, should be dealt with via email.
And, if you do email the CRA (or call) and you do not get a response, please
understand it is very likely because someone reviewed your email or message
and determined that the CRA cannot help. We simply cannot respond to every
such inquiry. If we can offer you help or otherwise meet your needs, we'll
respond. If you have a potential dog for our program, feel free to email us.
If we do not return the email, it is, again, because we reviewed the information
and determined we cannot take the dog at this time.
If we can help you, you can expect a response, generally, within 24 hours.
We often respond within an hour, but of course we can't guarantee a response
within such a narrow time window.
