The eighth sefirot, hod is majesty, splendor and acknowledgement. It is left leg and like chesed and gevuah, very much
connected to natzach, the right let and seventh sefirot. Hod is associated with the power to continually advance
through determination and perseverance that is born of commitment. It is through hod that we are able to achieve
our life goals. Through this achievement, we experience majesty, splendor and receive acknowledgement.
The word itself means both "acknowledgment" hoda'ah and "splendor" hed.
The Kabbalah often considers hod and natzach as one. The right and left legs function together. When we walk,
we use both. In the Zohar, netzach and hod are referred to as "the scales of justice". Netzach endures
and is victorious while hod acknowledges or concedes. The Kabbalah teaches that it is here, the place
between the two hips, that is responsible for the body's balance.
