Ajna Chakra Third Eye or Sixth Chakra
Anahata Chakra Heart or Fourth Chakra
Bija Mantras Sounds that correlate to the different color vibrations of the chakras that can be used to help energize a particular center. Also called "seed sounds".

Dieties There are numerous dieties mentioned throughout the site. Click here to link to a website containing a listing of different pantheons including Hindu, Norse, Egyptian and Greek.
Edda Either of two early Icelandic literary works:  the Poetic or Elder Edda (c.1200), a collection of Old Norse poetry or, the Prose or Younger Edda (c.1230), a summary of Norse mythology with two treatises on skaldic poetry attributed to Snorri Sturluson.
Etheric Aura body that is of or like ether, very light, delicate, celestial.
Hinduism The religion and social system of the Hindus, developed from Brahmanism with elements of Buddhism, Jainism, etc.
I Ching Chinese divination system
Indic Of India; designating or of a subgroup of the Indo-Iranian branch of Indo-European language family, including many of the languages spoken, or formally spoken, in India, Pakistan, Ceylon, etc. This term is not used in the site and is defined here to further define the term Sanskrit.
Kabbalah A philosophy developed by certain Jewish rabbis, based on a mystical interpretation of the Scriptures. Also spelled: Cabala, Kabala, and Kabbala
Kundalini snake that is coiled three and 1/2 times at the base of the spine
Mandala A circular design containing concentric geometric forms, images of dieties, etc. and symbolizing the universe, totality, or wholeness in Hinduism and Buddhism.
Manipura Chakra Third Chakra or Solar Plexus
Mantra A hymn or portion of a text especially from the Veda, chanted or intoned as an incantation or prayer.
Muldhara Chakra Root or First Chakra
Rig-Veda The Veda of Verses (Psalms). The oldest and considered by many, the most important, of the Hindu Vedas.
Sahasrara Chakra The Crown or Seventh Chakra
Sanskrit The classical Old Indic literary language, as cultivated from the 4th century B.C. onward and still used in ritual.
Sefirot channels of divine energy or life force according to Jewish mysticism
Svadhisthana Chakra Second or Sacral Chakra
Tai Chi A moving meditation based on balance developed by Taoist.
Taoism Chinese philosophy based on the teachings of Lao Tse
Teutonic Designating or of a group of north European peoples including the German, Scandinavian, Dutch, English, etc.
Upanishads Any of a group of late Vedic metaphysical treatises dealing with man in relation to the universe.
Veda Any of four ancient sacred books of Hinduism, consisting of psalms, chants, sacred formulas, etc.
Vedic The old Indic language of the Vedas, an early form of Sanskrit. This term is not used on this website; it is defined here for informational purposes and to further clarify other terms.

Yin female principle in Taoism
Yoga A mystic and ascetic discipline by which one seeks to achieve liberation of the self and union with the supreme spirit or universal soul through intense concentration, deep meditation, and practices involving prescribed postures, controlled breathing, etc. Click here to link to Yoga Journal on-line. There are many different types of yoga. Several are mentioned in this site.
Yogi A person who practices yoga.
Zohar A mystical commentary on the Pentateuch, written from the 2nd to the 13th Century. A principle source of the Kabbalah.
