Gather any tools you feel you will need before beginning such as candles and your journal and pen for use after the meditation. Meditations involving sound will not be discussed here, but are discussed on the Sounds and the Chakras page. It is suggested that you meditate on all seven of the major chakras in one sitting. If you have difficulty visualizing color, you may wish to purchase a candle that contains each of the colors of the seven major chakras. There are candles available that burn through each color from red to violet or white. There are also candle holders available, some arched like a rainbow, that have separate holders of one each red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Most metaphysical or new age shops have these available. Meditations for each chakra are available by clicking on that chakra on the image map below. It is best to begin with the root chakra.

If you are using a chakra candle or colored candle to meditate, sit in a dark room with your eyes partially closed and focus on the color and flame as you move through each meditation.
