The Friends was formed in September of 1992 as a volunteer fund-raising and advocacy group for the Hopewell Public Library. The original group included seven local dedicated men and women whose early fund-raising events included the geranium sale, the book cart, a quilt raffle, and the annual appeal.

Over the years, the Friends have been responsible for the beautification of the Library both inside and outside, as well as the expansion of the Library's many collections. The Friends fund the purchase of many books for both children and adults, all of the children's craft programs, and the summer reading incentive program. The funds raised also enabled the purchase of the beautiful new chairs and rug in the adult reading area, new wooden bookshelves, an information sign in the front of the library, as well as upgrades in the children's room.

The Friends plan to continue to support the expansion of books, periodicals, and reference materials, as well as the many programs that will ensure the continued success of our Library.

We are grateful to the several hundred families and individuals throughout the community who support the Friends each year. Thank you for showing your continued support of the Library.
