In the News: Dr. Turco on WTOP
Dr. Mark Turco, Director of the Center for Cardiac and Vascular Research at Washington Adventist Hospital, was interviewed recently on WTOP radio (103.5, 103.9, and 107.7 FM) about the newest surgeon general's report that says even a bit of social smoking, or inhaling secondhand smoke, could be enough to block your arteries and trigger a heart attack.

Dr. Turco discusses the findings and talks about how quitting can reduce a person's risk for heart and other health related problems. In addition, the U.S. Surgeon General formally released the new report, "How Tobacco Smoke Causes Disease" at the National Press Club. Dr. Turco was asked by the American Heart Association to attend as their expert on Cardiovascular Disease and tobacco. Click above to listen to the audio from the WTOP interview.
