A Spotter's Guide

Here is a compilation of the Mavericks and Comets seen in the movies.

Runaway Car

- I trust that all of you Maverick fans out there went through the agony of sitting through this bad, made-for-TV movie that starred (what began as) a nice looking '74 Maverick four door.

12 Monkeys

- On (Bruce Willis)'s trip back to 1990, there is a red, large-bumpered, 2-door Maverick parked outside the Police Station.

48 Hours

- Outside the parking garage a yellowish '70 maverick passes by on the street.

Batman II

- Openning scene, a family gets mugged after walking past a Blue 2-Door Maverick/Comet.

Erin Brockovich

- Yes, my girlfriend dragged me to see it, but it wasn't a complete waste of time, because early in the movie the neighbor has a yellowish-green, 2-door Maverick parked in front of her house.

Heat

- Green 2-Dr Maverick can be seen through the passenger window of the big tow truck as they are driving along.

Maximum Overdrive

- Small-bumpered Maverick on a junk pile.

Terminator 2

- When the LTD wagon that Arnold and company are travelling in overheats, they pull off the road, and there is a brown, 2-door, small-bumpered Maverick in the background.


I have had many reports of Mavericks / Comets sighted in movies that I have not seen myself.
