She was aged 81 Years, 7 months and 12 days. She was born in Conestoga, Lancaster County, on July 9, 1794, and after residing in Lancaster and Franklin Counties, took up her residence here for the past five years. She was widowed, and was the mother of Rev. F. W. Kremer, D. D., of Lebanon; Rev. A. H. Kremer, D. D., of Lancaster; and Rev. A. R. Kremer, D. D., of Emmitsburg, Maryland. The funeral will take place on THursday at 1 oclock from the residence of her son, the Rev. F. W. Kremer, D. D.

Daniel Bishop, a gallant soldier during the Rebellion, and a citizen of Annville, died on Monday in the harrisburg Asylum.He will be buried at Annville. He was both blind and insane, which entitled him to a heavy pension, as he lost his eyesight while in military service.

Lebanon Valley Standard obits of: 15 Feb. 1879....(CK note-edited for length).... SUICIDE - Tuesday morning the body of Samuel G. Miller was foundin a woods of Chestnut sprouts about six squares from his house. He was on his knees with a rope around his neck, and a wound in his right temple. The pistol was found in the snow at his side, with six of its chambers still loaded. The rope was about ten feet long and an inch thick, and was tied to a limb of a small chestnut oak, about an inch in circumference. For some time past his actions have been looked upon with suspicion by those who knew him, as ever since the death of his first wife, he has been gloomy and depressed in spirits. On Monday he visited town and put his wife on a train to visit her relatives in Fleetwood, Berks County. On his return home, hhe told his children he was going to attend a religious meeting. THe eldest went to the meeting house and discovered that he was not there. Through the night, his three children rangong in age from 13 to 16 years, anxiously awaited his return. In the morning, along with heighbors, a general search was made, and he was found at about 9 oclock. He had several small ropes and $23 dollars in his pockets. One of the deceased chilren is an idiot, confined closely at home. THe deceased lives in Swatara Township, about 4 and one half miles from town, near the Black Oak Hills. He was about 40 years old, and was a weel to do farmer. His wife is expected home today. The County Coroner held an inquest with the following jury; S. S. Thomas, Felix Light, A. Gingrich, Samuel Peters, W. I. Hoffman and David Miller, whop returned a verdict to the effect that "he came to his death by a gun shot wound, in the right temple, which he inflicted upon himself, while laboring under a temporary aberration of the mind.

He was aged 55 years, and was a leading member of the Lebanon Bar, had served on term in the State Senate, and also a member of the Lebanon Borough Council, He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge, No. 121 of Int. Order of Odd Fellows; and of Mt. Lebanon Lodge, No. 226 A. Y. M. THe relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Saturday afternoon at 1 oclock from his late residence on Cumberland Street. Interment on Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Lebanon Valley Standard obits of: 27 Sep. 1871.... The injuries to Mr. Josiah P. Hetrick, received by the fall from a shed in his yard on Wednesday last, have resulted in his death and removed one of the oldest and most influential men in our community. Mr. Hetrick was born in Lebanon County on December 25th., 1809. His ancestors were of good old German stock who came to this country a century and a half ago. His grandfather, Johann Heinrich Hetrick, settled in what is now Berks County, after landing in Philadelphia in 1749. He remained there for a few years and then moved to Lebanon County. The parents of Josiah, Mr. and Mrs. William hetrick, died when their son was quite young. He was left to the care and protection of of relatives living in Lebanon, where he was educated in German and English schools. When he was 15 years old, he left Lebanon for Easton, Pa., where he learned the art of printing. A few years after, he became the editor of the Northampton County "Whig", the leading organ of his party in that district.

Lebanon Valley Standard obits of 17 Nov. 1877.....Headline: Death of an Old Citizen...... Tuesday evening this community was startled by the announcement of the death of John F. Ebur, better known as Father Ebur. He was confined to bed for about two weeks. Notwithstanding his extreme old age, he was blessed with general good health and attended promptly to his appointed duties in the affairs of life. For many years he conducted the confectionary business in the building now occupied by his son, ex-Sherriff Ebur, as a residence on Cumberland Street, and later on South Ninth Street, from which place he retired from active business pursuits. By his ever kind, pleasant and quiet disposition he endeared himself to all who learned to know him. His friends, in all walks of life, were legion. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of this place, since June 25, 1849, and from very near that time to the day of hhis death, he performed the duties of Tyler of the lodge. On the 29th. of October, 1847, he joined Lebanon Lodge, No. 121, I. O. O. F., and almost at the same time, became a member of Mount Libanus of that same order, in both of which he faithfully performed the duties of outer guard. In spite of the infirmities of age, he never permitted an evening to pass without without attending to these duties, regardless of the inclemency of the weather. In addition to being a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, he belonged to the Royal Arch Chapter, Lebanon Council and Hermit Commandery Knights Templar. He was almost 80 years of age, and was a native of France, coming to this country when quite young, and has been a citizen of Lebanon about a half of a century. Among the large family of sons and daughters are ex-Sherriff F. W. Ebur, and the present Deputy Prothonotary, James W. Ebur, aged 88 years, 2 months and 24 days. ****** Lebanon Valley Standard funeral services of: 24 November, 1877..... A large number of relatives and friends assembled on Friday afternoon to pay the last sad tribute of respect to the memory of Mr. John F. Ebur. The funeral cortege which moved from the residence of the deceased, preceded by the Perseverance Band playing a dirge, to the cemetery opposite the First Reformed Church, where interment took place. The Rev. Dr. Kremer read the funeral service of the First Reformed Church, at the grave, and at the conclusion, a hymn was sung. Next, Mr. W. G. Bergner, Chaplain, read the funeral service of the Odd Fellows Lodge, and succeeding it, the customary ode was sung by the members present. The services of the Knights Templar were then conducted by Dr. George P. Lineaweaver, E. C.; Mr. W. G. Ward, P.; and W. W. Murray, R. All the ceremonies were solemn and impressive. From the cemetery, the large concourse of people proceeded to the First Reformed Church, where services were held. Rev. Drs. Kremer, Johnston and Reinmund, officiated.

Last Saturday morning, December 8th., Coroner Boltz, accompanied by a jury, went to Myerstown to hold an inquest on the body of Emma Shott, wife of Stephen Shott, residing at Lock No. 7, on the Union Canal. The deceased came to her death by accidently slipping and falling while in the act of drawing water. She was 26 years of age, and was the mother of three children.
