Lebanon Daily News obits of: Thursday, June 10, 2004 John H. Mease Jr., 66, of 2409 Mifflin St., Lebanon, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Laura J. Hickernell Mease. Born Sept. 27, 1937, in Lebanon, he was a son of the late John H. Sr. and Emma Allwein Mease. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, working in electronics and retiring as a master sergeant in 1975. He was a life member of the Richland American Legion and a member of the Schaefferstown Historical Society. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are brothers James, husband of Bernice Mease, and Leroy, husband of Margaret Mease, both of Lebanon, and Paul, husband of Darlene Mease of Maine; sister Virginia, wife of Terry Knapp of Fredericksburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister Thelma Boyer. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. Taylor-Ruffner Funeral Home, Lebanon, is handling arrangements.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 23 July, 1926. Felty Wolfe, 60 years old, of Murray, near Green Point, died at his home on Thursday evening after a short period of illness. A complication of diseases was the cause of death. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church, near Green Point. Besides his widow, Cinderella Wolfe(nee Kreiser); he leaves survivors, one son, Jacob, of Suedberg; one brother, Samuel, of Green Point; and one sister, also of Green Point. Interment to be in the adjoining cemetery at Pleasant Hill Church.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 25 Jul 1926. Maggie Miller died Friday at her late residence, in Kleinfeltersville, at the of 59 years, as a result of complications of diseases. She was a faithful member of the Kleinfeltersville Evangelical Church. She is survived by her husband, Calvin Miller; and an adopted daughter, Stella Miller, at home; and three brothers, Gedeliah Kindt, of Avon; Samuel Kindt, of Lickdale; and Jacob Kindt, of Kleinfeltersville. Also survivng are two sisters, Mrs. Oliver Fauber, of Enhaut, Dauphin County; and Mrs. Charles Dissinger, of Hebron. Interment to be in the Walmer L. and R. Cemetery, Lebanon County, Pa.
Lebanon Daily News obituaries of: 25 Jul 1926. John Adam Fahler,aged 77 years,passed away in his residence at Lickdale, on Friday at noon, caused by a complication of diseases. He was a retired farmer, & was a member of Sattazahn Lutheran Church, Green Point. He is survived by two daughters, Annie and Kate, at home; two sons, Harvey, at home; and Milton, of Green Point. His wife preceded him in death many years ago. Interment in the Sattazahn Lutheran Cemetery, Green Point.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 8 May 1933. Mrs. Lydia Young (nee Kohr), 73 years old, of Green Point, died at 2:00 oclock Saturday afternmoon of complications, following a two days illness. She was a member of Sattazahn Lutheran Church, and the Sunday School, & was Treasurer of Missionary Society of the church. She is Survived by her husband, J. Albert Young; two daughters, Mrs. Daisy Honafius, of 591 Guilford Street, Lebanon; and Sallie Young, at home. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Ernestine Frantz; a brother, John Kohr, of Branchdale; and a sister, Mrs. Levi Fake, Lebanon. Interment to be in the Sattazahn Lutheran Cemetery.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 12 Jul 1933. Nathaniel Kreiser, a wood chopper, died at the home of Lincoln Kreiser, of near Moonshine Church. Death was attributed to complications. He was aged 61 years, and lived in that vicinity all his life, and was a member of the Moonshine Church. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. George Blair, of Lickdale; Mrs. Jacob Kreiser, and Mrs. Edward Bowersox, both of New Bloomfield. Interment to be in the Moonshine Church Cemetery.

Lebanon Daily News obits of: 19 Sep 1975. Carrie Buck, 98, formerly of Annville RD I, died this morning in the Palmyra Nursing Home, where she had been patient for the last 10 1/2 years. A native of Paxtang, Dauphin County, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Susan Gerberich Houck. She was a member of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren. She was the widow of Jaco A. Buck, who died in June, 1962. She is survived by six sons: Jacob Jr., Hershey; William, Bethel; Herman, Annville; Allen, RD 1 Annville; Harry, of Grantville RD 1; and David, Annvifle RD 2; and one daughter, Bertha, wife of Joseph Batz. Annville RD 2; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Allen Houck, Palmyra. Interment to be in the Grantville Cemetery.

Lebanon Daily News obits of: 30 Sep 1975. Catherine Antal Wattai, 84, widow of Vincze Wattai, 447 N. 3rd. Avenue, died yesterday at her residence after an illness of several months. A native of hungary, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Becsi Antal. She was a member of St. Gertrude Church, and the Rosary and Altar Societies. Survivors include these children; Helen Magyar, at home; Mary, wife of Karl Bomberger, of Mt. Gretna; Catherine, wife of Watson Ealy, Sattelite Beach, Florida; Margaret, wife of Stephen Soss, Mt. Gretna; Elizabeth, wife of Paul Sand, Reading; Vincent, Lebanon; and John, Lebanon. Also, a step-daughter, Keleman Maria, Hungary; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, mary Perlaki, Sebring, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Interment to be made in the St. Gertrude Cemetery, N. Lebanon Twp.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 8 Dec 1945. A heart attack on Friday afternoon proved fatal to Milton B. Wolfe, of 520 North Eleventh Street, and he had expired by the time his wife found him. He had been ill for the last two years, and was 68 years of age. Mr. Wise was a former janitor of the Memorial United Brethren Church, and was a member of that church and Sunday School. He is survived by his wife, Jennie A. Wolfe, nee Weber; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Menzel; a son, Ralph G. Wolfe, both of Lebanon; grandchildren, Robert A. Bentz, and Doris C. Wolfe, of Lebanon; and three sisters, Mrs. John Lyon, of Lebanon; Mrs. Kathryn Dearolf, and Mrs. Earl S. Wentling, both of Harrisburg. Interment to be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 8 Dec 1945. Mrs. Emma Wisser and Miss Mary Hoffman, both of this city, have been notified that their sister, Mrs. Sadie C. Zerbe, died last night at the home of her son, Leon R. Zerbe, York, RD #6. She was 73 years old, and a former resident of Camp Hill, and the Camp Hill Lutheran Church. She is survived by another son, Lawrence E. Zerbe, and a stepson, Wilson B. Zerbe, both of Harrisburg; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Kilbourne, Camp Hill, and Mrs. William Urich, Dauphin; one brother, Jacob Hoffman, Ohio; and two already named and six other grandchildren. Burial site not determined.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 4 May 1926. Mrs. Amelia Keller, nee Redman, one of the oldest residents of the city, passed away on Monday evening at 9:15 oclock at her residence, 1105 Walton Street. She was aged 88 years, and was the widow of Harrison keller, who died 47 years ago. She was amember of Centenary Methodist Church for many years. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Kate Barlett; and two sons, Samuel H. Meily, and John H. Keller, both of this city; a sister, Mrs. Susan Wunderlich; 17 grandchildren; & 17 great-grandchildren. Burial will take place in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Lebanon Daily News obits of: 19 Mar 1926. Mrs. Boltz, wife of Ephraim Boltz, passed away at her residence at Elizabeth Creek Farm, Swatara Twp., on Friday afternoon at 1:30 oclock. She and her husband for years conducted the Lebanon Valley House, now named the Stratford Hotel. She had been in failing health for the past year, and died as the result of complications of diseases. She was aged 60 years, and was a member of St. Johns Reformed Church in Jonestown. Those who survive are, her husband, Ephraim; three daughters, Susan Boltz, this county; Mrs. B. B. Lyon, Bar Harbor, maine; and Miss :ucy Bolltz, Bryn Mawr, Pa.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 3 Jan. 1951. Mrs. Jennie A. Wolfe, nee Webber, widow of Milton B. Wolfe, late of the Widows Home, passed away at 2:30 a. m. today, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 72 years of age, & death was caused by complications. She had been at the Widows Home for the past year, and was a member of the Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church. She had been employed in the kitchen at the Bon Ton for a number of years. She is survived by a daughter, Esther Mezel, Lebanon; a son, Ralph G. Wolfe, Lebanon; and a sister, Mrs. Ursula Brown, Lebanon County. Interment to be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 8 Feb. 1912. John H. Kreiser, aged 67 years, died at his home at 125 Guilford Street, Wednesday evening at 5:30 oclock, with general debility causing his death after an illness of four months. He was a member of the Lehman Street M. E. Church, and was employed as an elevator operator at the American Iron and Steel offices. His wife died about one year ago. He is survived by four children; Mrs. George Landgraf, of this city; Miss Mary Kreiser, at home; John, whoresides at home; and Mrs. Irwin S. Seitz, of Tremont. Also surviving are six sisters & 2 brothers; Mrs. Elias Houtz, Jacob Kreiser, Mrs. Julius Bowman, Mrs. Jonas Garman, and Mrs. J. Henry Bowman, all of this city; Adam Kreiser, and Mrs. Henry Kline, of Myerstown; and Mrs. Lydia Myers, of Fredericksburg. Twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. The funeral will be held on Monday afternoon, with services from the Lehman Street M. E. Church. Interment to be in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Lebanon Daily News funeral notices of: 7 Feb. 1912. ...(edited for clarity)... Funeral services were held this morning over the remains of the late Harry Fake, the nineteen year old son of Levi Fake, of Green Point. The Rev. Mr. Young officiated at services which were held at the home of the father. Interment was made at the Green point Cemetery. Pallbearers were; Joseph Leese, Harry Bates, Harvey Fahler, and Aaron Wengert. Undertaker H. B. Strauss was in charge. The young man was taken ill some weeks ago with diptheria, and apparently was recovering, but was suddenly attacked with hemhorrages which resulted in his death. He was survived four sisters and three brothers.

"Ted" Kohr, who died Sept. 16, 1981. Born Nov. 6, 1924, in North Annville Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Anspach Feaser. She was a homemaker and had been a factory worker in a local garment-manufacturing company. She enjoyed crocheting. Surviving are daughters Vivian, wife of Carl Brown of Myerstown, and Shirley, wife of Lewis Beard of Palmyra; son Edwin H. Jr., husband of Mary Kohr of Lebanon; sister Eva Netzley of Schaefferstown; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was a devoted member of the Reformed Church of Schaefferstown. She had been in feeble health for the past four years, and had been confined to bed for the past seven months. She was born in Fredericksburg, and had passed her 78th. birthday anniversary on February 7th., this year. She had been a resident of the city for fifty years. Her husband was engaged as a cabinet maker for the Frantz furniture and undertaking establishment. She leaves adaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Horstick, at home; and a step-son, Ralph Kreiser, of Harrisburg; a grandson, Ned Horstick, is training with an Army detachment at Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and a granddaughter, Doris Kreiser, resides at Harrisburg. Born Oct. 11, 1928, in Upper Leacock Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Melvin and Anna Mary Leinbach Binkley. He was a mechanic for W.C. McQuate Trucking in Bethel and a member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Ralph L. Binkley Jr. of Annville and Larry E. She suffered from an organic afflication for two years, and was bedridden for the past three weeks. She passed her 71st. birthday anniversary February 8th., this year. She was a member of Seventh Street Lutheran Church, and was president of the Berean Bible Class of the Sunday School, the ladies Aid Society, the Mite Society, and the Womens Missionary Society. She was associated with her husband, Ephraim Gettle in the Ed Miller Grocery Store, and later they had their own store on Ninth Street, near Lehman Street. Mrs. Gettle was the last member of the family of Jacob and Mary (Miller) Motzer. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Raymond A., & Warren G., & a daughter, Mrs. Mary C. Ganter, all of Lebanon. There are five grandchildren. Interment to take place in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Lebanon Daily News obits of: 14 Mar. 2004. Word has been received of Lebanon native Richard R. Mease, 88, of Tucson, Ariz. who died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at home. He was the husband of the late Mildred Mease, who died in 1992, and first wife Marian Hausman.The son of the late Ray and Carrie Mease, he lived in Lebanon until joining the Army in 1944. He was stationed in France and Japan during World War II and honorably discharged in 1953. He lived in Richmond, Va., for 36 years and then went to live with his daughter in Tucson, where he spent the last 12 years of his life. Surviving, in addition to his first wife, are daughter Joanne Wallace of Tucson; Rheta Holleran of Mechanicsburg; son Wayne Aldridge; 10 grandchildren;. 12 greatgrandchildren; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by sister Rheta Header and a nephew. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Richmond, Va.

Death was ascribed to complications and followed a year of illness. Miss Weber was a dressmaker, and also made furniture covers and draperies. An active member of the Moravian Church, she taught a Sunday school class for many years. Witmeyer, 55, of 405 Avery Street, parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away in the Parkersburg hospital on Saturday evening at 6:00 oclock. death was attributed to complications which occured following a major operation on Friday, July 19th. The descedent was born on a farm in North Annville Township, near what is now known as ³The Forge Dam². He received his early education in the rural schools od that vicinity, and later attended the ³Annville Academy². In his early career, he taught at various North Annville Township schools. He then studied music, and became a musician, and was director of numerous choral organizations in Palmyra and Hershey. He then became a foreman in the Landis Shoe Factory. He subsequently moved to Rochester, New York, and became active in Rescue Mission work in that city. He then moved to Harrisburg, and was an assistant superintendent of Rescue Mission in the capital city. He then moved to Parkersburg where he took charge of the Presbyterian Church Mission. He was a member of the First United Brethren Church of Harrisburg. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. John A. Witmeyer, Sr., of 130 East Main Street, Annville; his wife, Carrie Himmelberger, Parkersburg; his only aunt, Miss Elizabeth Snoke, of 130 East Main Street, Annville; the following children, Forrest and Donald, of Syracuse, New York; Mrs. William Henry, Mrs. William Weirbach, of Rochester, N. Y.; Mrs. Claude Kelly, of Los Angeles, Calilfornia; Stanley, of Cuba, N. Y.; Arlene and Geraldine, of Parkersburg, W. In addition to her husband, Joseph Neidig, she is survived by these children; Lester, Jonestown; Ralph, Harold, William, and Nelson, all at home; Verna, of the Bronx, New York; Mrs. John Hoch, of Jonestown; Mrs. John C. Edris, of Jonestown; Naomi and Doris, at home. Three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary Neidig, also survive. Burial to be in the Ono Cemetery.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 1 Mar. 1939. Mrs. Henrietta Deaven, aged 86, widow of Elias Deaven, died Tuesday evening at 10:30 oclock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Monroe Kreiser, of Jonestown R. D. 2, near Moonshine Church. She was ill fifteen days, and her death was attributed to complications. She was a member of Sattazahns Lutheran Church, Green Point. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Francis Ditzler, Green Point; Mrs. Monroe Kreiser & Mrs. Lydia Klohr, both of Fredericksburg; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-granchild. Interment will be in the Moonshine Cemetery.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 26 Mar 1951. (edited version) Robert Klepper passed away on Saturday in the Good Samaritan Hospital from complications of an illness. He was aged 58 years, and was employed as a fireman for the Cornwall Railroad. For a long time he was a pitcher for local baseball teams. He also held membership in the Moose, and the Speedwell Fire company. Aside from his mother, Mrs. Lydia Klepper, the following children survive; Arthur, Alice and Lydia Klepper, Mrs. Vincent Bankey, and Mrs. Edmund Keller, all of Lebanon; Mrs. Roy Page, Myerstown; and Mrs. Carl Lehman, Sayre, Bradford County. Brothers and sisters who survive include; Mrs. Toby Hoke, Mrs. Daniel Smith, Mrs. David Weist, Mrs. Alfred Drum, John, Allen, Adam, George, Erwin and Clarence, all of Lebanon; and Mrs. Harvey Smith, Annville; and thirteen grandchildren. Interment in the Ebenezer Greenwood Cemetery.

Dohner, of Quentin, with whom he made his hime. He had been ailing with complications for some time, and was 81 years of age. He was a retired highway employee of the township and the state, and was a member of United Christian Church, Fontana, the Orioles Lodge, and the Quentin Fire Co. These survivors are named; a son, George B. Kreiser, of Annville; three daughters, Goldie, wife of Elias Dohner of Lebanon; Fannie, wife of Herman Hoke, Quentin; and Elizabeth, wife of Henry A. Dohner, Quentin; 31 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Daniel Kreiser, of Jonestown. Interment to take place in the Cornwall Cemetery.
Lebanon Daily News obits of: 17 June 1940. Mrs. Loretta E. Wolfe, of Grantville, R. D. 1, died yesterday in the Lebanon Sanatorium. Death was caused by a cerebral embolism. She was only 22 years old. Mrs. Wolfe was a member of the Church Of God, East Hanover Twp. Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Deaven; sisters, Mrs. Lourane Buck; Miss Mareda Deaven; and Miss Jean Deaven; one brother, Mark Deaven; a grandmother, Mrs. Alice Elliott; and grandfather, Jacob Deaven, all of Grantville, R. D. 1. Interment to be in the Church of God Cemetery, East Hanover Township.

Born April 1, 1924, in East Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Lucy Hetrick Gerberich. She was a homemaker, graduate of Hershey High School and a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Palmyra. She attended Sherk's Church in Annville. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son Richard A., husband of Bonnie Boyer of Hummelstown; daughter Marie B., wife of Dr. Burke Cunha of Garden City, N.Y.; sisters Beulah Shaffer and Kathryn DeLong, both of Hershey, and Betty Hetrick of Campbelltown; brothers George Gerberich of Elizabethtown and Ray "Chick" Gerberich of Hershey; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Rothermel Funeral Home, 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, preceded by a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow. Interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery, East Hanover Township.
