Custom Mantel Treatment

This mantel features a sanded-back finish for an antiqued look.  In reality, the mantel is very modern....it was a custom molded fiberglass addition to the room.  Expert faux finishing helps integrate it into the style of the space. Room design by Betty J. Weir.

One-of-a-Kind Antiqued Dining Set, Pasadena

This banquet-sized table and eight chairs were custom finished with a 4-layer antiqued treatment to coordinate with the home owner's sideboard.  Sprayed topcoats provide durability and the furniture is now truly unique!

Dramatic Suede Paint Technique

Powder rooms are a great place to experiment, especially if you're a little shy of strong color.  It's only a small space but it can make a huge statement!

Naperville Art League Powder Rooms

As a member of the Naperville Art League, artisan Michel Laurine donated faux finishes for the two powder rooms at the group's gallery.
The ladies' room finish uses finely blended washes of color to give the feeling of a watercolor sunset...	...the colors flow around the room..	...wrapping gallery visitors in movement.

The mens' room has a more traditional, monochromatic finish.  Artists use these rooms to wash pigments from their hands after classes and demonstrations, so it was important that the walls should mask paint spatter and be easy to repair if needed.

Tuscan Texture in Burr Ridge
