Garden

Summer, 2003

I
To the right you see a wreath that was given to me by for my birthday by my friend and fellow gardener, Gini. I received the package yesterday and opened it this morning.  Thank you, Gini! The wreath is hanging on the front door, which opens to this garden. There were also hollyhock seeds and some kitty cutouts.
I planted these big purple elephant ears this morning in my front flower garden.  I have several more to put in and I will put them to the left of the one you see in the center. Click the picture for another, larger photo.  BTW, the structure in back is the mansion where my neighbor with the floaty dresses lives.

Just to the right of this large elephant ear is a table I made from a piece of granite and a column.  The planting for it carries the theme of purple/chartreuse.
A close-up of the elephant ears combined with ipomoea.  I want you bargain hunters to know I purchased these elephant ears from Wayside Gardens for only $4 each.  Thanks to my GW buddy Orena, who tipped me off to the sale earlier this spring.
