A Gardener Travels...
Who does a gardener visit when traveling? Other gardeners, of course.  And what does a gardener want to do while traveling?  Well, visit gardens, garden centers, and maybe do a little gardening. These photos were taken in Omaha, Nebraska on August 3, 2006.

This little house, completely covered in ivy, charmed us. Yes we know all about the maintenance issues.

A street front garden. Russian sage, roses, ground cover.  I will be posting more photos from this garden, as it has quite a collection of pathways built from brick, stone, wood, etc.

We spent hours and hours at this huge garden center, known as Lahoma Nurseries. It is the largest garden center I have ever seen. It is a family-owned business.

They have bougainvillaea growing the entire length of one of their greenhouses. This display is only a small segment of what is actually growing there.

There were lovely ponds, fountains, streams, and waterfalls everywhere we looked.

Lake house my friend's son is buying. He will close August 11. This is the view toward the water. The house has three or four good-sized concrete fountains and quite a number of benches and statues.

View from the lake house.
