Our Civil War

We thought the real estate agent was lying, to make a sale. He told us the property we were looking at building on, was the site of a Civil War battle. He pointed out the battletrenches, latrine area, and other areas of interest.  Raised in STL, we always thought the governement would save these places. Unfortunately, the reality is that the county wants as much of a tax base as they can get. So, in comes another subdivision. We are trying desperately to save this land as well as the surrounding land which includes more Civil War treasures and a multitude of wildlife (i.e. beaver sanctuary).
