I started with Tamiya remote controlled tanks several years ago when I purchased the 1/16 Pershing tank. After building it and seeing it run it wasn't long before I started to accumulate several more tanks.
Then the tinkering began and I developed some electronics to enhance the RC tank experience.

 Welcome to rctankhobby.com.

Update: November 2008.

New target boards, includes relay, mainly for using the sound module (not included) to include sound. Simply connect four wires from the sound module to the target board, the on board relay will "press" the play button for sound. Record your own explosion! You will need to supply your own speaker for sound (and of course the sound module).

Prototype on a board to discriminate between "non Tamiya" signals from registering hits on the battle circuit have proven successful. I plan to make these available to anyone that has purchased a battle circuit. It will connect between the battle circuit and the Ir detector board. I will need to know if the supplied detector board is being used or the Tamiya TBU. Also when you bought the board and possibly the revision (if it's displayed).
Tamiya TBU info.

Also working on a housing for the detector & LEDs for the battle circuit. It's a bit over 3/4" in diameter. I save height by using four detectors as opposed to using a reflection device and one detector. This works great slightly evevated out of the cupola in a tank, or in a bush for a static gun.

It's made of colored resin, will rpobably need to be primed and painted when I'm happy with the results. Or you may never see it again!

Tank reset circuit - that damn TBU is noisy (electronically). I need a more aggressive filter! On the bench for now!
