T34/85 with Battle Circuit & ESCs
Here is the WSN T34/85 in 1/16 scale that had the original electronics removed and replaced with a 5 channel 75MHz radio, one dual
ESC and two single ESCs (another dual would have worked fine).
I installed the Battle Circuit and wired it to work with the Tamiya
TBU as you can see it mounted to the gunner's hatch.
The original motors for the track drive blew out rather quickly, actually they
burned up, so I replaced them with better ones.
The turret traverse and gun elevation mechanisms and drives were kept, the ESCs
drive the motors.
Here is a shot of the inside. What a wiring mess!
I used two Scorpion ESCs for turret and cannon control. The dual Sabertooth
ESC for the track drive. The radio receiver is below the two Scorpion ESCs. Battle Circuit and Trigger board are mounted to an aluminum
plate. The Trigger board is connected to channel 5 of the radio and is used to fire.
This setup works great and the tank is very
light so I wouldn't expect too much wear and tear on the gears but time (and my driving) will tell.
Here is the sound module mounted to an audio amp. The sound module itself does not produce a lot of power so an additional audio amp
will help.
The speaker shown is hot glued to the chassis. Not an ideal setup but it works for now. The speaker should be mounted
in a box, that will help the sound tremendously.
No recoil for the gun yet. Originally I had it rigged up to use the stock recoil
but I wasn't happy with it.
I will work on integrating my recoil board with a small servo. It's more realistic than the T34's
original mechanism.
