This year I thought we'd save some money on our trip to Myrtle beach and camp instead of renting a $$condo$$. We camped at Oceanlakes campground. Just an ok campground, but I'd call it more of a RV parking lot than campground. Just not my style of camping. A lot of sand and not a lot of grass, no fire rings, no trees, and some pretty small sites. I don't think I'll be popup camping on the ocean anymore, maybe if I ever get a motorhome I'll try again. The wind was blowing the roof and canvas around so loud one night we couldn't get any sleep and we had to pack up and stay elsewhere for the night. The pools where very nice, but we spent most of the time in the ocean. This wasn't our first time to Myrtle beach, just our first time camping there. I think next year were going back to renting a condo. We did have a great time and can't wait to go back again.
OH YEA, I almost forgot to tell you about the golf carts. Those things are out of control in the campgrounds down there. Everyone has at least one and it would seem the rules are you either have to be under 13 to drive them or under the influence of Alcohol. If you go I hope you like fireworks also. Every night there are fireworks on the beach until 11pm and most of the leftover junk is still there in the morning.
Click the pics below for some cool panoramic pics. Once open just click and hold down the button and you can move around like your standing there looking around.
On the way home we started looking for a hotel at 7pm. We didn't find one until 11:30pm. Because of some damn NASCAR race 3 hours away in Bristol TN, every hotel, motel, and shack was booked full within a 300mile radius of the track. I never did like NASCAR and now I really hate it.
