John Hames
Following is a collection of historical data on the life of John Hames. It is still being revised and updated.
John Hames is the founder of Soquel, California, and my great great great grand uncle. We have no photographs of him. Guess he was camera shy. We don't know for sure where he is buried, although we think it's at a place called Peachtree Valley, in either San Benito or Monterey County.
He married Drucilla, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Shadden. Thomas is my great great grea tgreat grandfather, so I'm related to John Hames through marriage.
John's brother, Benjamin, was the founder of the town of Corralitos, California.
