McCubbin Family
Verna Walden, daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Dora Walden, married Chester Harold McCubbin, on October 2, 1947 in the First Christian Church in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, and shortly thereafter lived in Richland, Washington. I'm their oldest child, Tom McCubbin, born October 5, 1948. My sister Janis Kay Schneider, was also born in Richland on June 12, 1951, and our brother Mark Cordell was born in Richland on May 16, 1959.
My dad, Chester Harold, was born in Cross Timbers, Missouri on March 12, 1925 and died in Los Gatos, California, on June 30, 2003--the same calendar day, incidentally, that his father Joseph McCubbin, died.
My dad worked for General Electric for 38 years. He started with the company at the Hanford nuclear power plant in Hanford, Washington. In July, 1960, we transferred with General Electric to San Jose, California, where us three kids grew up.
