Rose Walden

Rose Walden is my great great grandmother. She died in Seaside, California in 1957. She worked the ranch in Weston, Oregon and in her later years sold it and moved to Seaside, California, where she worked in the fish canneries on Cannery Row when they were still active as in the John Steinbeck era.

Here's a charcoal sketch that my mother, Verna (Walden) McCubbin, did of her when my mother was in high school. This would have been in the mid-40s.

Here's an old photo with four generations of Waldens': Far left unidentified, Second (baby): Rose Emma (Walden) Purcell, Third: Bertha Walden, Fourth: Rose Walden.
