Regular Meeting. Speaker, Adam Block of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory, "Dances with Lx 200s". Adam, who is a telescope operator on Kitt Peak, will talk about the "nuts and bolts" of telescope mechanics and optics, plus the enhancements obtained using modern opto-electronic devices. Mt. Hopkins

Field Trip. Tour of the MMT (Multi-Mirror Telescope) at the Whipple Observatory on Mt. Hopkins. Car pools leave from back of New Administration Building at 7:00 AM. Tour program starts at 9:00 AM with a film. Buses to go up the mountain at 9:30 AM and return to the base camp at 3:00 PM. Reservations required. Cost is $7.00 per person.
