About Us
The Sun City Astronomy Club is a charter club
within the adult resort community of
Sun
City Vistoso, which is located in the
Tucson,
Arizona suburban town of Oro Valley. Monthly meetings feature
guest speakers from various astronomy organizations in the greater
Tucson area. Meetings may sometimes include presentations by
members and the showing of informative videos. Fairly frequent star parties and
field trips to nearby observatories and other astronomy-related facilities help
members appreciate the night sky, the workings of the universe and our place in
it.
We have over 60 member households, and
attendance at monthly meetings and other events can range from about 40 to 90
people.
