Club Resources
The Sun City Vistoso Library has several excellent Astronomy books. Some of
these were donated by the SCV Astronomy Club. However, we have been informed by
the Library that there is no room for additional Astronomy books. This situation prompted some creative
thinking by the Board of Directors of the Astronomy Club, and we came up with
the following approach:
Many members own a number of Astronomy books and may be willing to lend them to
fellow Club members. The approach is to
use the club’s web site to list the names of those members willing to lend
their astronomy books and a list of their books. To borrow a book listed on the website, call
the owner and work out a time to pick up the book. We recommend the loan period be a maximum of
three weeks.
To start we have 3 members who are willing to lend. Check the web site.
Those members willing to participate in lending books should:
1.
Contact
past president,
2. Provide Paul with your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and
3.
A
list of Astronomy books you are willing to lend.
All club members can participate in this program. It is not necessary to
have a book for loan to borrow a book. Obviously, the more members that make
their books available for loan the more choice the members will have
