Why Atheist Papers?

ATHEIST PAPERS AND YOUR INVOLVEMENT

The concept of "papers" is basic to sharing ideas: expressing original ideas, developing basic research to support these ideas and to show the continuum into which the ideas "fit", and allowing others to criticize those ideas.  Colleges and universities teach about individual writing, the expression of new ideas within the learning community, the exposure of the ideas to the greater community so that they can be strengthened, changed, proven new and fresh.  But in the community beyond colleges and universities, papers are not often developed and circulated these days (they were developed in the distant past and called various things - pamphlets, interest sheets, public statements, installments).

I want to encourage Atheists of all ages to write even if they've never written before.  I want to print limited copies of their papers and send them out to selected groups and individuals.  I want to help individuals to open debate on their Atheist ideas and to give them the opportunity to express ways to fight religion.  Writers are expected to back their ideas by referring to the other writers' work and show how their own thoughts are both the part of a stream of other ideas, and are clearly defined as their own original ideas and not the ideas of others.

I invite Atheists to send writings to my website for consideration.  The papers must be more than 10 pages long and shorter than 30 pages.  The papers must have basic research to back up statements made and the research must be shown as quotes or references with attribution.  When papers have been sent we will discuss changes for improvement, their circulation, and ways to promote the discussion of the ideas expressed in the papers.  Remember to keep copies, and to understand that they are automatically copyrighted to you - no circulation will be done without agreement.  Even if you've never written anything, give it a try now, especially you are a passionately Atheist, Humanist, or Freethinker and have strong idea how to fight religious beliefs.

QUOTE FOR THOUGHT

”The sex-abuse crisis that engulfed the Roman Catholic Church during the past 12 months has spread to nearly every American diocese and involves more than 1,200 priests, most of whose careers span a mix of church history and seminary training.  These priests are known to have abused more than 4,000 minors.” (From: “Sex Abuse By Priests Found To Be Rampant”, by Laurie Goodutein, New York Times News Service.).
