Search engines, best of's and starting points
- Yahoo is nicely grouped by catagories.
- Lycos has catagories as well, but primarily has a large database of pages for key word searching.
- dmoz open directory project as a project put together by volunteer editors, this directory, formatted similarly to the 1994 era yahoo, has better potential of keeping up with net growth, without relying on the lack of judgement exercised by spiders.
- Alta Vista has no catagories but you can do key word searches over a wider database than Lycos.

- Just the FAQ's ma'am.
- Can't get to a newsgroup you like from your server? Zippo provides free access to all the non-alt.* groups (they charge for those).
