Keela crept silently through the streets, trying not to be seen. She knew that if she was seen, people would run as fast as they could through the streets the other way, feet pounding noisily on the half frozen ground that she had left in her wake. Keela knew that she shouldn't be mad at them, I mean, if she was a human and saw an alien with a white tiger tail and ears, she would probably be shocked as well. Still, Keela was short tempered and quick to tell others what she thought of them. It wasn't her best quality, but ever since she had lost her friends, family, and the rest of her species, her heart had frozen, and was taking a long time to melt.
She knew what she was looking for. The fame of the titans were known everywhere, even in the far off galaxy where she used to live. She saw the big T less than a mile away. She started moving towards it. Her bare feet seeming to echo against the buildings that lined the empty streets as she her feet pounded against the cold asphalt. As she walked, cold air billowed around her, leaving a small layer of frost over the scenery as she past. Her two elbow daggers hung loosely at her waist, hitting her thighs as she quickened her pace. They were a last line of defense if her powers became unusable. She reached the door of the titans tower, a slight frown placed upon her lips in uneasiness. She knocked on the door, unsure of what to expect.
She hears a buzz. It sounded like a security camera switching it's view to her. She heard the thumps of running footsteps right before the door swung open. Her gray eyes looked over the boy who had opened the door. He appeared to be about her age, with black spiky hair, contrasting with the pale brown of Keela's own. Robin, she thought to herself. "Well, I'm Keela. I was wondering if I could, you know, join the team." Robin looked at her strangely. Keela realized what she must have sounded like and rolled her eyes. "I don't mean right away. I know you probably don't trust me, but could you give me a chance?"
A girl with vibrant green eyes and red hair walked up behind him, placing a gentle hand on Robin's shoulder. "Who is this non-humanoid? Is it a possibility of new friendships?" She asked eagerly, eyes wide. This must be Starfire, thought Keela. Robin smiled crookedly. "It's a possibility. We'll give you a chance, Keela." Keela sighed gratefully. "Thanks," she whispered. Robin moved aside, gesturing for her to come in. As she walked past him, she could see both him and Starfire shiver from the cold draft that Keela wore around herself like a cloak. The walked past a girl reading in a chair, dark blue cloak fanning out around her. Well, this has to be Raven, thought Keela.
Raven's eyes shot up. "Who's this?" she asked, glancing at Keela's animal features suspiciously. "This is Keela," Robin said. "She's a possible teen titan." Raven said nothing, appearing not to care, as she looked back down at her book. Keela shrugged as Robin led her into a room with an enormous vidio screen hanging in front of many windows. Two teen-agers played video games, sppsrently oblivious to the rest of the world. One, who appeared to be a Cyborg, jumped up triumphantly, and smiled down at the smaller green one. "You thought that you could beat me, but you couldn't! No one can beat me.!" This must be Cyborg and Beast Boy, assumed Keela. "You just wait until next time," Beast Boy muttered. "I'll eat you alive!"
He motioned down his now lion mouth, looking as is he wished for Cyborg to jump in.
Robin stepped in, interrupting their argument. "Titans! We have a possible new member. This is Keela." Cyborg and Beast Boy looked at Keela, apparently amazed by her ears and tail. Beast Boy stepped toward her, hesitated, and then pocked her left ear, questioning, "Is that real?" Keela froze where she was, her anger raging within her. Her eyes shimmered a light blue for a second before the cold air began to spread and become colder. Everything began to freeze around Keela, and soon the room was just a large tumble of ice and snow. "Never," whispered Keela, "Touch my ears, again."
Keela blinked, gaining control of herself. The air slowly became a normal temperature as the gathered snow and ice began to melt. Everyone in the room looked astonished, including Raven, who had just walked in, and Keela herself. "Um," she fumbled with her words nervously. "Oops?" The teen titans starred in shock at her as Raven said. "This is going to be a lot of work if you can't control your powers." Keela frowned. "I can, I just get mad very easily"
