The Case

What's Really Going on Chris?

Camille Brand (Whoopi Goldberg) is a conwoman who accidentally saves the governor from an assassination attempt. She's heralded as a hero. David, not knowing the conwoman part, wants to hire Camille as a PR move to bring Blue Moon some publicity and business. He convinces Maddie to do this by taking a pay cut and giving up his office. Camille takes the job at Blue Moon in an effort to hide from the dirty cop (Judd Nelson) who is blackmailing her. It doesn't work, he finds her. She steals money from Blue Moon's safe. David initially takes the blame, but Maddie doesn't believe him. Camille walks in, returns the money, admits she is a conwoman who "takes people for a ride" and Blue Moon "has been rode." She leaves for good. David feels bad, he didn't think he was that bad a judge of character. Then Dave and Maddie are visited by the crooked cop who is looking for Camille. Dave and Maddie find Camille, the cop finds them, and a chase ensues.

Chris's Obsessive Analysis

Ok, I'll admit it, this episode ties as my least favorite episode. I think of it as a Bert and Agnes episode but with Whoopi and Judd, and both have too little of Maddie and Dave. It is clever and funny at times, and the chase and ending are definitely worth watching. But in my opinion, the best part of this whole episode is seeing Dave's (I think it's really Bruce Willis') car at the end.
