  • Bunny Brief - rookie reserve 1b/OF who played in four seasons with the Browns, White Sox and Pirates. Born Antonio Vincent Bordetzki.
  • Doc Lavan - rookie starting ss who would put together a 12 year career as a starter primarily with the Browns and Cardinals. Not much of a hitter and subject to error; must have been a nice guy.
  • Walt Alexander - reserve catcher who played in five seasons hitting .188 for his career.
  • Jimmy Austin - starting 3b who came up with the Yankees in 1909. In 1911 went to the Browns where he started for 10 years. Also saw action in six later years thru the age of 49. On Sundays replaced Branch Rickey as manager for eight games in 1913 and parts of two later seasons.

  • George Baumgardner - starting pitcher who pitched five seasons for the Browns. Led the AL in hits allowed in 1913. -

  • Pete Compton - reserve OF who played with six clubs during his six seasons.
  • Johnny Johnston - starting OF in his only season in the bigs
  • Walt Leverenz - rookie starter who put up an anemic 7-29 record in two years with the Browns, In nine innings of a third season he lost two games and faded away.
  • Carl Weilman - rookie starter who was 85-95 with a decent 2.67 ERA over eight seasons with the Browns. His 20 losses tied for the AL high in 1913. The next year he was among the league leaders in wins and ERA.
  • George Stovall - veteran starting 1b who played two seasons for the Browns after eight with the Indians. Managed Cleveland his last year there and St Louis in his two years with them before being banned for spitting tobacco juice at an umpire. Went to the Kansas City Federals as player manager for two years to end his career.
  • Burt Shotton - in 14 seasons was a starting OF for both the Browns and Cardinals in St. Louis. In between played one year for the Senators. Led the AL in walks received in 1913 and 1916. Managed the Phillies and Dodgers for 10 seasons between 1928 and 1950 leading the latter to two pennant wins.

  • Bill McAllester - rookie reserve catcher who could manage only a .153 average in 85 AB during his only season in the bigs.
  • Gus Williams - Free-swinging starting OF for the Browns. Played five seasons for them; in his two as a starter would lead (1914) and finish 2nd (1913) in strikeouts.
  • Roy Mitchell - starting pitcher who lost 16 games for the Browns. Pitched five seasons for them before finishing his career with the White Sox and Reds after three years in the minors.
  • Dwight Stone - rookie reliever and spot starter who pitched the next year for the Kansas City Federals and never returned to the bigs.
  • Charlie Flanagan - Only 3 AB in 1913, his only season in the bigs, but was in the right place at the right time to be immortalized on a T200!!
  • Mike Balenti - rookie reserve SS/OF who got another chance in 1913 after a short stint with Reds in 1911. Could only muster a .180 average in 211 at-bats and never made it back to the bigs.
  • Del Pratt - top-notch starting 2b who led the AL in games played five times over his 13 seasons with the Browns, Yankees, Red Sox and Tigers. Had a .292 average and 1,996 hits over his career. Led the AL in RBIs in 1916.
  • Earl Hamilton - starting pitcher over 14 career seasons primarily with the Browns and Pirates. No-hit the Tigers in 1912. Career 116-147 record.

The Browns were last in the AL in 1913 by virtue of playing (and losing) two more games than did the Yankees. Had four starting pitchers in the top ten in losses for the season. View the entire 1913 roster.
