Cobb Island Day Festival 2009

Cobb Island Day Festival to Feature Food, Crafts, Vendors, Games, Entertainment, and FUN!!

Scenic Cobb Island hosts it’s annual community celebration of fun, food, crafts, vendors, games, entertainment, and music, “Cobb Island Day 2009” to be held on Saturday June 6th, 2009.

On Saturday morning, the exciting day begins with flag ceremonies, games and entertainment, craft booths and craft items, food vendors, exhibits, specialty t-shirts and clothing, and more at 10:00am, and continues throughout the day. All set in the quaint beauty of little Cobb Island.

The event is organized and sponsored by the Cobb Island Citizen’s Association, along with other local organizations.

Everyone is invited to Cobb Island for a fun early summer weekend!

Directions:  Cobb Island is located approximately 20 miles south of La Plata. Follow US-301 South from La Plata for 11 miles to Newburg. Turn left onto MD-257 (Rock Point Road). Follow MD-257 approximately 10 miles to a right turn onto MD-254 (Cobb Island Road). From there is less than 1 mile to Cobb Island. For a map see the link below

Cobb Island's annual "Cobb Island Day Festival" will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 10am-5pm on Old Fishermen’s Field in the center of Cobb Island.  The fun begins at 10:00 a.m. with the Community Parade. Opening ceremonies begin at 11:10 a.m. with a flag-raising event, followed by re-dedication of the Memorial Brick Walkway.  Games, contests, entertainment, vendor booths, craft sales, bake sale, food vendors, and other fun events will be held.  Fun games include a pie-eating contest, sack race, crab races, water balloon toss, and other games are free and open to all.   Additional children’s games for a small fee.  Come celebrate the start of summer with he Cobb Island Citizens Association and other local organizations, and experience pretty little Cobb Island.
