This lamp was sold by The Sunshine Safety Lamp Company in Kansas City, MO. Most of the parts were bought from Coleman. Coleman absorbed this Company by 1928 and adopted the Sunshine Logo. The filler cap and main valve are hidden under the movable bell. This lamp has the original artichoke shade.

This is Coleman Air-O-Lite Model "A" 1914-1915. The fount was originally made for the Sunshine Safety Lamp Co. and was later bought by Coleman. This fount has the Air-O-Lite name on it. I have seen three other markings on these founts: Sunshine Safety Lamp Co., Knight Light Co. and some without any mark at all. The shade is not old enough for this lamp. It is a 329 made for the Quick-Lite in 1919.

Shown here is a Coleman PQ Chandelier. Coleman made variations of this Chandelier from 1916-1931. The earlier models were Air-O-Lite with model "M" burners. Some of the later models had internal pumps. The shades on this lamp are in no way original. (401 shade)

Some say that this is the Greatest lamp that Coleman ever made. Coleman stopped production on this lamp because of The Great Depression. This model is a deluxe model. More brass was used in the mixing chamber and valve section. The cost was too high for the people of the Great Depression.

I bought this lamp for my wife. It was a strategic gift. My thought was that I could build a better collection if my wife shared my addiction. It has worked so far.
