My U2 Experience

Providence, RI

October 30, 2001

Bono noticed my 9 year old daughter, Nicole, waving to him During “Bad”.

He waved back to her and started singing to her.

Bruised silken skies and burning flak
Colors crash, collide in blood shot eyes.

If I could, you know I would.
If I could, I would let it go.

This Separation

Isolation

Separation.
Isolation

Condemnation.
Isolation

Now Revelation.
Isolation.
Now Revelation

Let it go, uh huh
And so now fade away.
To let it go, uh huh
And so now fade fade

The next thing we knew, he proceeded to leave the stage towards her.

Before leaving the stage, he looked to see where he’s headed again.

fade away.

Fade away, fade away

He walked behind the stage and climbed to where our seats were.

Then he hopped over the rail …..

….and was right in front of her!

It got pretty crazy and Bono had to hop back over to safety. Then

Wide Awake
I'm wide awake.
Wide awake.

I'm not sleeping.
Oh, no no

he sang another verse!

He kissed my daughter’s hand ….

and asked her “What’s your name?”

I'm not sleeping.
Oh, no no

What’s your name?

You can see me in the shot below.  I’m right above Nicole in the blue

shirt.  My sister is standing next to me, but leaning over so she looks

like she’s standing to the right of Nicole (L-R in photo she’s on the left side).

What’s your name?

“I Love You!”

Nicole didn’t hear Bono’s question and didn’t quite know what to say

when he held the mike to her!  She yelled “I Love You!” and everyone

cheered!   Bono then said a prayer to all of us during these times after 9/11.

I want to make a prayer,
just want to make a prayer -
that these times that

we’re living in,
that they pass quickly,
and we get onto the next chapter of our lives
where America and Europe is safe
where the rest of the world is not living on less than a dollar a day,
That's our prayer...

How long to sing this song?

How long to sing this song?

Then he finished the song with “40.”

As the crowd continued to sing, Bono went back to the stage and

“Streets” started.

At the end of the night, Bono went to wave goodbye to Nicole where he

climbed, but we were waiting to wave to him above the exit door and

missed him.  We asked the crew behind the stage if there would be a

video and they said that they weren’t taping the show.  Then one of

them gave us a copy of the set list that was taped to the equipment!

It was the most amazing experience!  I really enjoyed finding reviews

of the concert on the Internet as most of the people mentioned it and

it was fun to hear how they saw it.  I searched for photos and the bootleg

and am very happy to have acquired both.  The bonus was a video

from a generous fan that read my review on U2tours.com and sent

it along.  I used the video to do these screen captures.  I want to thank

everyone that assisted me in my quest for more documentation!

U2 fans are awesome!

The other bonus is that I have met via the Internet a lot of nice fans

from my concert review on U2tours.com and posting on Zootopia

and Interference.   Hope you enjoyed this page!
