Rolling Stones History Tour: Dartford Sites

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were born and raised in Dartford, Kent. I traveled to Dartford using the same trains they would later use as teens to get back and forth from London. As I sat there on the train, I imagined a time some 40 years ago when one of them might have been a fellow passenger! Once in Dartford, the first place I wanted to see was where it all began:

Livingstone Hospital. Mick and Keith
were both born here in 1943. Wentworth County Junior School. Mick and Keith met here for the first time in 1951.

39 Denver Rd., Dartford.
This is where Mick's family
lived when he was born. 33 Chastilian Rd., Dartford.
The flat above Terry's was where Keith lived at birth.

Maypole County Primary School, Dartford.
First school that Mick attended, 1947. Dartford Grammar School.
Mick also went to school here, 1954.
