My name is Carl J. Doscher and my ancestry is of German and Cherokee Indian descent. I graduated from UT Chattanooga in August 1977, majoring in Business Administration. I like computers (upgrading, WWW, games), canoeing, hiking, taking photos of outdoors, swimming, fishing, guitar, country & gospel music (some pop), home repairs, gardening, traveling, etc. To view a picture of myself taken in the summer of '98' in Panama City, Fla. check this (99 KB) or a more recent picture in front of my computer here (75 KB). I had been employed at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), a major power producer, since March 14, 1979. At TVA my job was eliminated due to an outsourcing effort at the Chattanooga IS Help Desk in September 1997. Currently I am still surviving early retirement. If anyone would like to visit TVA online look here.
In case anyone would like to view places you can submit your resume free via the internet try the Career Transition's Resume Submission page. You might like to also view The Chattanooga Times/Free Press and check out the classified ads for jobs or peruse news, sports, business, rentals, etc. To check the Tennessee Department of Employment Security for jobs, try opportunities. Another great series of links for Southeastern & nation-wide jobs, as well as links to various newspapers in the Southeast & elsewhere, is provided by Jeff Walton who taught the class 'Self-Directed Job Search' in TVA's Career Transition program. One other job seeking(/posting) and resume listing service is called Chattanooga Hires. One might like to view a document concerning the in's and out's, do's and dont's, of the life event, Job Loss, either in text or document format (very helpful).
