Crocheting

was added to my list of crafts very early on.  I learned at my Mother's knee.

I must have been in 5th or 6th grade when Mom gave me my first crochet hook and ball of thread.  It was a size 8 and bed spread cotton.  Mom made crocheted doilies to give as gifts to many of our relatives.  I was soon doing that also.  It wasn't until later that we began working with crocheting afghans, sweaters, and so on.  Crochet is a fun thing to do.... I was soon turned off of fine thread crocheting because it usually requires ironing, starching and careful storage.  But my interest in the world of lace has changed my attitude and recently I finished come crocheted edging.

crochet afghan-Michael Crocheting Afghans is very satisfying and this particular one was a work of love.  New baby in the family!  Nice to celebrate with a gift.  As I have said, I would rather do a homemade gift that shop...  This is a worsted thread...solid color and a multicolor yarn.  Finished in 2004.
