I've built model planes much of my life---but they still lack the sophisticatqqd techniques I see in current model builders. Where are some ideas??
Welcome to the Classic Sterling Models website for both airplane and ship model kits collectors, builders, and flyers or sailors. Classic (or Vintage) Sterling refers to those model kits manufactured by Sterling in Philadelphia from the late 1940s until 1995. This website was created by a hobbyist for other hobbyists who have enduring memories of building Sterling's models. There is nothing for sale here, only information that can help you find what you are looking for. The best source for Sterling kits is on eBay.
Please use this site's blog feature to contact other enthusiasts for information on model kits you are interested in. Keep in mind that Sterling manufactured both airplane and ship model kits, so choose the message category area you need to target. Also remember that references to model kits should include kit numbers, wingspan, keel length, etc. to make sure you have identified your specific kit of interest. Sterling made many versions of the Fokker D VII and the U.S.S. Constitution for example.
