Long Island Wineries Tour

05/09/09

Ed Borher, Terry Quinn, Clay & Pat Stahl, Mark & Lisa Cantrell, Nancy Russell

Ed organized a tasting tour of Long Island wineries. It was about an hour and a quarter ride on New Jersey Transit from Hamilton, NJ to Pennsylvania Station, NYC. There we were met by a limo and headed west through the Queens Midtown Tunnel and the Long Island Expressway. Amid heavy traffic (for a Saturday morning), it was a little over two hours to the first of the four North Fork wineries. We had been to the Long Island wineries twice previously, once each in 1988 and 1989. This trip was pretty nice, with the exception of the ride back -- the unbearable traffic into the city making the drive an hour longer than the trip out!
