ABOUT CINDY

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Growing up, I was a bit of a Tomboy; skateboarding, jumping ramps with my bike and playing football with my friends. I even boxed with my dad when I was 8 years old. I participated in cheerleading, dance class, and my favorite thing, which was gymnastics. However, I was the only girl I knew who was working out with free weights in a garage when I was 16.  I started working at the local gym in my town (now called Atlantis Health and Fitness) teaching group fitness classes and working in the weight room when I was a senior in high school. Being around bodybuilders inspired me to compete in the NJ Championship Bodybuilding contest (teenage division), which I placed 5

Twenty-two years, and three children later, I’m still at it with more motivation, more knowledge, and a greater desire to help other people obtain their goals. My past struggle with eating disorders has made me more sensitive to the needs of people of all sizes and shapes.  It has also forced me to do some serious soul-searching to realize we are all MUCH MORE than just our bodies.  I believe working out is something we do for ourselves to feel better, whether it’s for better health, to relieve stress, or just to get a burst of endorphins, our “happy hormones”.  To make a lifetime commitment to being healthy requires small, consistent changes in one’s lifestyle. I strongly believe that “straight and narrow is the path”, and it’s when we stray from this path that we are lost again.

Whether you are an aspiring fitness novice or a competitive athlete, I will design a specific program that will help you reach and exceed your goals.  My objective is to implement a program, motivate, instruct and educate each client to the best of my ability. So whether you are looking to improve your overall body tone, cardiovascular strength and endurance, sports specific fitness, weight loss, or help with a healthy pregnancy, I am the trainer for you.   

To make working out and implementing a fitness program as easy and convenient as possible, I offer in-home private training, apartment/office training, group training, outdoor training and access to Atlantis Gym in Secaucus, New Jersey (minutes from Manhattan).

When I started training with Cindy, I was 10 pounds over weight.  I first met Cindy when I took a Body Sculpting Class she was instructing at Atlantis Fitness.  I enjoyed her class and style of teaching so much  so that I decided to inquire about working out with her on a one-on-one bases as my trainer.

Cindy had me follow a weight training program that consisted of running a lap between each set which allowed me to focus on losing weight by using weights as well as incorporating cardio into my workout.  Over the past year, I not only  lost 10 pounds, but I’ve notice a change in the shape of my body.  My body is more toned and defined and I am more comfortable with myself.  Having a trainer gave me the extra push I needed to loose 10 pounds and working with Cindy was great.  Thank you.

Cindy is a great personal trainer and I really look forward to our sessions.  Her circuit training style makes the hour fly by and her enthusiasm for fitness is motivating.  She not only talks the talk but she walks the walk believing fitness isn't a short-term goal but a long term lifestyle choice.  Both her professional and personal achievements have inspired me personally.

Did it today again.  Love it. Big compliment. I have a TamiLee Webb DVD called Tight on Time but I use yours more.  Some of the exercises are too gymnastic on hers.  I got it on half.com subsidiary of ebay.  I wanted to compliment you.  I love to exercise, pilates, love Gunnar Peterson Ball exercises, turbo jam (cannot follow Billy Blanks too fast)  and yours.  Got to get back in shape.  Been working some mean hours and falling back so making time now.  No excuses.  It is my kind of time and effectiveness.
