Merm (Mary-Kathleen) has been clogging since the age of five. She has been with
Scotty since she was seven. She started clogging for the exercise and began
competing in solo competitions at age six. She
has won her age division many times in freestyle, traditional and acappella
solos. She won overall grand champion in acappella solos for CA in Lincolnton
in 2007. She has participated in the Jr. Olympics for three years, each year
winning gold in solo competition.
She won her age division in the CCA sponsored "Miss American Clogger" pageant in
2006, and was first runner-up in 2007. She won her age division in the "Miss
E.P.I.C." (Equipping People in Clogging) pageant for 2007-2008 and serves as one
of the official ambassadors for the E.P.I.C. Conference for 2008.
She teaches clogging at her church on Monday's as a Ministry Outreach. She plans
to one day open her own clogging studio and have her own competition team.
