The
Center for Black Music Research-At Columbia College in Chicago,
this center documents, preserves, and disseminates information
about black music in all parts of the world, used to publish a
great quarterly journal with very informative articles but seems
to have ceased this great service, still educates and entertains
the greater Chicago area

of Congress-Library of Congress's site featuring information
about their work as well as some great on-line exhibits and services
for acquiring copies of their work on documenting American history,
at one point John Lomax's original writings and photograph's from
1930's search for American folk music
