Eight Dietary Imbalances
How Sugar Ruins your Health
How to Undiet
Mood Types
I sought out the book Diet Cure, following the recommendation of an individual interested in health improvement. Once I saw the book I knew it would be valuable and useful. This review will briefly introduce you to the key topics. I highly recommend you get this book for yourself.
I like how Ms Ross has organized her book. The first several chapters provide a foundation and introduction to the concepts presented.
Part I helps the reader Identify the Eight Imbalances
Part II provides practical suggestions for correcting imbalances correlating with the imbalances identified in Part I.
Part III integrates part I and part II with practical hints about a master plan, cooking and shopping.
The Appendix provides several case studies and remarkable recoveries.
Our Biggest Dietary Problems
We don't eat enough fresh vegetables and fruit.
We eat too much sugar. [How Sugar Ruins Your Health] http://www.dietcure.com/sugar.html
We skip too many meals.
The majority of Americans eat an unbalanced diet.
"It isn't the calories, it is the kind of calories that they (eating plans) eliminate that make certain weight loss diets more "successful" than others...None (of the popular eating plans) exclude all three allergy-addictors entirely (Ross, P 68).
The author presents good support for Amino Foods. As protein is the only source of aminio acids, she recommends at least 20 g of protein at each meal. She also suggests amino acid supplements, and provides common sense ways to test for amino acid deficiency.
The author spends a section on Refueling your Brain Chemistry with Amino Acids. Chapter 9 provides an excellent foundation for Amnio Acid Therapy. The author discuses the value of  amino acid supplements if an individual's system is out of balance. I especially like the prevention and common sense approach, providing many solutions and ideas for common problems, and provides an extensive explanation of amino acid supplements.

Eight Major Imbalances

1. Depleted Brain Chemistry
2. Malnutrition due to Low Calorie Dieting
3. Unstable Blood Sugar: problems it causes, and in Part II what to do about it.
4. Unrecognized Low Thyroid Function: how to test for it, and in part II what to do about it.
5. Food Addictions and Allergic Reactions: Major Allergens: wheat and glutens, dairy and sugar
6. Hormone Havoc
7. Yeast Overgrowth: how it happens, and in Part II what to do about it.
8. Fatty Acid Deficiency, and what to do about it.
Dr. Ross cites sugar, glutens/wheat, and dairy as major contributors to current health problems. She provides simple ways to screen for these allergies, and then common sense approaches to improving health related to specific foods. I found her recommends very sound and based on common sense.
How to Undiet: (p 137)
Do not skip meals.
Eat at least 25% of your day's calories at breakfast.
Do not undereat.
Start your meals with plenty of protein.
Eat unlimited amounts of green, red and yellow vegetables with your protein.
For snacks, eat fruit and vegetables with protein.
Include good fats with each meal. Examples: nuts, seeds, salad oil, avocados.
Stop counting calories and fat grams
Use common sense to recover from previous eating experiences.

This book has many resources, both books and web sites. The author includes guidelines for finding a supportive health professional to help with nutrition choices, and an excellent food-mood log. If you go to Ms. Ross' web site, you can download a questionnaire and then provides some suggestions about what your answers mean.
