Gilchrist/Zanni Camp Philosophy
The Gilchrist/Zanni Volleyball Camps are for girls ages 11 - incoming high school seniors (for the 2008-09 school year). The camps are run by Scott Zanni and Bonnie Gilchrist. Both are accomplished high school varsity volleyball coaches, played collegiate volleyball and have years of experience teaching volleyball. They are committed to delivering high quality instruction in the game of volleyball at a low cost, fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Coach Gilchrist and Coach Zanni have committed to make sure their camps:
- employ only experienced counselors who have played in college, coached high school/club volleyball or both
- feature a low camper/counselor ratio (past camps have maintained a 7/1 ratio)
- offer reasonable camp rates when compared to other locally run volleyball camps (we encourage you to compare our cost/hour to other camps)

Beginner Camp June 22-25 Cost: $120 |
This camp is for girls’ ages 10 through incoming high school sophomores. The camp focuses on the basics of volleyball including the rules, positions, basic skills and offensive and defensive systems. July 6-9 Cost: $120

This camp is designed for girls ages 12 and over who have played on a competitive middle school, high school or club team. The focus of this camp is solely 6 on 6 game situations including strategies and tactics used to improve team play. Each night of camp will feature regular 6 on 6 competitive situations. Advanced/Elite Showcase Camp July 20-23 Cost: $200 |
The Camp is a tremendous opportunity for the student athlete who is interested in pursuing a collegiate playing career. This camp is designed for experienced volleyball players entering their junior or senior seasons. Campers entering their sophomore season may apply to Coach Zanni/Gilchrist. Registrants for this camp may also be asked to submit a letter of recommendation from a coach to complete their registration. To register for this camp a player must have two years of varsity and/or club volleyball experience. This camp will focus on specific advanced techniques related to individual positions, offensive and defensive formations, game strategies and will provide athletes will multiple competitive opportunities to play. On the final day of camp (July 23rd) college coaches will be attending to watch campers engage drills and play in a tournament format. Additionally, this camp offers classroom training to campers and parents on NCAA Clearinghouse Procedures, SAT/ACT, and GPA for the college bound athlete. As of December 22, 2009 the following colleges have committed to attending (we are currently working with colleges to register. More will be added in January/February): Division I: American, Delaware State Division II: Division III: Bridgewater, Dickinson, Franklin and Marshall, Gettysburg Goucher, Hood College, Johns Hopkins, Mary Washington, Marymount (VA), McDaniel, NC Wesleyan, Susquehanna, Stevenson (Villa Julie), Virginia Wesleyan Community Colleges: MC-Rockville, Hagerstown (ranked in the top 10 the past two years) Tenatively attending: Salisbury. Intermediate/Advanced Camp July 13-17, 2009 Cost: $235 |
This session is for girls ages 12 and through incoming seniors. To register for this camp a player must have past playing experience on a varsity, junior varsity or club volleyball team. This camp will focus on specific techniques related to individual positions, offensive and defensive formations, game strategies and will provide athletes will multiple competitive opportunities to play.
