Wrentham's Council on Agingwas created by town by-law under state enabling legislation (MGL Ch.40:8B ) for the purpose of coordinating and/or carrying out programs designed to meet the needs of Wrentham residents sixty and older. The Executive Office of Elder Affairs provides services to the 342 cities and towns in the Commonwealth who now have Councils on Aging. Wrentham's Council on Aging operates a Senior Center built in 1998/99 by students of the Tri-County Technical High School on five acres of land at 400 Taunton Street. Wrentham Council on Aging and its manyVolunteers, provide Educational Programs, Health, Information and Referral, Transportation, Outreach, Telephone Reassurance and "Looking Ahead".Other programs available at the Senior Center are classes in Exercise , Painting , Computers and Knitting . HESSCO, Health Education and Social Services consortium provide many services to Wrentham. Among them are Noon meals at the Senior Center as well as Home Delivered Meals. |
