CMLL - Original San Francisco Toymakers (1992) A great collection of wrestlers from "south of the border". CMLL is AAA's rival promotion. It looks like they both came out with figure lines around the same time. And guess what - they're both very good. These figures are around 6 to 7 inches, made of hard rubber with no articulation. The figures are slightly cartoonish, but not too bad. These aren't quite as rare as other foreign figures, but it may take you a while to find the whole collection. The rarest figure of the bunch is the Ultimo Dragon, and the least rare (atleast it appears that way) is Vampiro. I find it a bit odd that these 1992 Original San Francisco Toymakers figures are better than the ones they made for WCW years later. Favorite figure: Ultimo Dragon (in fact, this is the figure which first got me interested in collecting) |

CMLL - Future Toys (1993) VERY little is known about these figures (which interests me about them). Although I'm not 100% sure they're official CMLL figures, I'm pretty confident they are. They were made in Japan and packaged in Mexico with the CMLL logo. The cards are unique looking, featuring three of CMLL's premier wrestlers, but have nothing on the back side. The wrestler's names are not listed on the card, but I think this was just done to save money, because the figures couldn't have cost that much to make. The guy I bought these figures from also had a cardboard-like figure from the same company which did feature Vampiro's name. This helps support their authenticity. There are two points of articulation (the arms) and they stand about 5-6 inches tall. Each figure has a secret compartment in the back. The quality isn't nearly as good as the Toymaker's figures, but there's just something about them that I like. These figures are very hard to find. Favorite figure: Vampiro |
