General Information

Winter Olympic Games

  • The 2007 Winter Olympics mission will be conducted during the period 29 January through 2 February 2007

  • The venues continue to be the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, Michigan and the Schuss Mountain complex in Bellaire, Michigan

  • The 210th MP Battalion Commander (LTC Stephen Potter)  lends his strongest support to the Special Olympics Mission, and has assigned Captain Curtis Belen as overall coordinator for the battalion.

  • Operational Plans (OPORD 2007, Annex A to 2007, Annex B to 2007 and Appendix A to Annex Draft) are currently available for download (See selections at left). 

  •  In the past, we have requested some personnel information upon arrival at the Grand Traverse Resort.  To get a head start on that process, we would appreciate your sending your home telephone number, cellular telephone and E-Mail address to COLTEgan@comcast.net.

  • Anyone that desires specific winter clothing, send an E-Mail or call.

  • As of this date, the "Approval Letter" from Lansing is still being staffed

  • The Joint Forces Headquarters (Lansing, Michigan) provided tremendous support to the mission.  In addition, the MTC at Camp Grayling, Michigan provided logistical support critical to mission accomplishment.  Our thanks to both organizations for contributing to our 31st year of supporting the Special Olympics of Michigan.

Summer Olympic Games

  • Planning is now underway for the Summer Olympics to be conducted at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan 31 May through 2 June 2007.
