Description: Follow the steps on this page to properly configure Mac OS 8.5-9.2 for Comcast High Speed Internet.
Symptoms: Mac has never been setup for Comcast High Speed Internet or is unable to connect.
Goal: To configure/verify settings for Comcast High Speed Internet.
- Click on the Apple Menu
. Mouse down to
. Click on TCP/IP.
- After the TCP/IP control panel opens ensure that "Connect via:" is set to Ethernet built-in.
Ensure that "Configure" is set to Using DHCP Server.
- At the top of the screen click on the Edit menu and choose User Mode.
- When the User Mode dialog box opens select Advanced.
Click OK to close the box and return to the TCP/IP control panel.
- In the lower right corner of the TCP/IP control panel click the
button
- In the TCP/IP Options dialog box uncheck Load only when needed.
Click OK to close the dialog box and return to the TCP/IP control panel.
- Click the close box.
- After clicking the close box you will be prompted to save the changes. Click the Save button.
- The setup is now complete.
